Selenicereus grandiflorus is better known as the "Queen of the Night".
This plant is a hybrid between Selenicereus anthonianus and Selenicereus grandiflorus.
The flowers have the same characteristics as the queen, they open in the late evening, close the next morning and they smell intensely of vanilla.
The plant body also resembles that of a Selenicereus: long, thin shoots with aerial roots.
But while the outer petals of Selenicereus grandiflorus are yellow, this plant has burgundy petals.
