This cactus was found by Friedrich Ritter in Argentina near the city of Cajas, province of Mendez, at about 2000 meters altitude.
The plant reaches a diameter of up to 4 cm and forms larger pads.
The approximately 3 cm tall flowers are orange.
Mostly several flowers appear at the same time.
