Now called Parodia warasii, this cactus grows over time into an impressive ball.
Fist it grows solitary, later clustering to an attractive group.
Thin, hair-like, yellow spines sit on the green ribs.
The large, pale yellow - nearly white flowers with a diameter of up to 5 cm appear regularly on the crown of somewhat larger plants.
The name honors Eddie Waras, the Brazilian plant collector from Sao Paulo. It was first described in 1973 as Eriocactus warasii by Friedrich Ritter.
Plants about 5.5 cm in diameter, about 8 cm tall
