Already in 1827 this cactus was first described under the name Echinocactus sellowii. After that it was called Malacocarpus sellowii, Wigginsia sellowii and Notocactus sellowii.
Since 1997 it officially run under the name Parodia sellowii.
By the name of the German gardener and naturalist Friedrich Sellow is honored.
Originally this plant comes from the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul.
The yellow, silky shiny flowers reach diameters of 4 to 5 cm, the style is red.
Portion with 20 seeds
