Also known as Matucana aurantiaca var. polzii.
The name honors Franz Polz, the longtime chairman of the Munich Cactus Friends.
It comes from the Peruvian region of Huánuco and grows there at altitudes of over 2000 meters.
The fresh green body has only a few short spines.
The crooked flowers are 7cm long and have a diameter of 7cm. They are red on the outside with a slightly purple edge, and yellow in the middle.
