Mammillaria duwei occurs naturally only in the Mexican state of Guanajuato at an altitude between 1800 and 2000 meters.
Due to the limited occurrence, the species is considered endangered.
The approximately 15 mm large, light yellow flowers appear all summer.
The plant later adorns itself with elongated, red fruits.
But even without flowers, the plant pleases with its beautiful spiked dress.
2 light brown, up to 1cm long, hooked central spines protrude from the circular, approx. 5mm long, white spines.
Plants approx. 4 cm in diameter, approx. 3 cm tall
