This plant was found by Friedrich Ritter in Peru in 1964 and was described for the first time in 1970.
The dark-gray-green body initially grows spherical, later columnar.
The purple-pink flowers with a white throat grow up to 9 cm in size.
Plants about 3.5 cm in diameter, about 6.5 cm tall
