I got the mother plant many years ago under the name Lobivia coquimbana. Coquimbo is a city in Chile, but there are no Lobivias in Chile. Due to the body shape and the flowers, it is more likely to be the shaferi variety of Lobivia aurea.
The dark grey-green body initially grows spherically, but then sprouts and forms attractive groups.
The funnel-shaped, bright lemon-yellow flowers grow up to 5 cm in size.
