This cactus, which is found in Arizona and New Mexico, forms huge cushions in the wild, sometimes with over 100 shoots. However, it can also be kept in a smaller group in a pot.
The funnel-shaped flowers are bright pink-orange and reach a diameter of up to 8 cm.
