This plant, which belongs to the ice plant family, comes from eastern South Africa.
The plant's fleshy leaves are hairy and bristly.
The rosette-shaped flowers, which appear from May to September, are purple with a white center.
With some moisture protection in winter, the plant can survive temperatures down to -10°C.
