Notocactus

Actually, the genus Notocactus no longer exists, because in 1987 the British botanist Nigel Paul Taylor abolished the genus "Notocactus" and gradually classified all previous species in this genus into the genus "Parodia" with a new name.
However, many cactus lovers are so attached to the genus name “Notocactus” that it has never really disappeared. Plants that are referred to as Notocactus also appear again and again in more recent publications. Since I keep getting requests for Notocacti, I have decided to offer these plants both under their current name as Parodia and under their old name as Notocactus. The old or new name is also mentioned in the plant descriptions.
